Join us for You Can Get It If You Really Want – a fantastic evening celebrating the Croydon legend Desmond Dekker, on Friday 25 October!

As part of Croydon’s Reclaiming Narratives event and in partnership with the Museum of Croydon’s Rewind exhibition, we will be joined by Desmond’s daughter Desrene Dacres and original members of The Aces in a special tribute to the one and only Desmond Dekker.  The evening will contain a musical tribute followed by an intimate Q & A session, hosted by Michael Fuller of Drop Da’Biscuit, which will shed light on memories and stories of Desmond and his contributions to the world of music.

The Rewind exhibition will be open until 9pm for a special private view where you will be able to see items from Dekker’s personal collection including instruments, outfits and of course his famous beret.

Drop Da’Biscuit will host a vinyl DJ set for the second half of the evening celebrating all things ska, reggae, and rocksteady. Better bring your dancing shoes!

Tickets are available on a pay-what-you-can basis with options at £5, £10, £15 – please select which ever option best suits your budget.
