Join author Bernadette Russell for interactive story The Wishing Tree, created for children and families.
The audience are invited to imagine a long-ago time, when the land was “all trees, as far as the eye could see”. The story explores different species of trees, the different ways in which trees are utilised by people, and the ways in which trees communicate. The storytelling combines myth and science in a playful, accessible way. In response, participants are invited to make three wishes, and will use these to decorate a tree in the library atrium.
BSL Interpreted performance, Friday 8 December 4pm.
We will be serving teas, coffees and mince pies for the grown-ups at the 2pm performance.
This event is a highlight within the “This is Croydon” programme, featuring festive activities coordinated by local community organisations and multi-faith groups under the theme ‘A Very Croydon Christmas‘. For more details, visit this link.
