Enjoy live music and dance performances as part of our Reclaiming Narratives weekend, marking Black History Month.

Rhythm Generation Drumming

Listen to the sound of traditional African drums and be transported to the heart of Africa, with Cheikh Diop from Rhythm Generation.

Black Victorians
Braithwaite Hall

Black Victorians is an incredible dance performance by the renowned Jeanefer Jean-Charles MBE, inspired by nineteenth century studio photographs of black men, women and children. Picture dancers dressed in restrictive Victorian costumes, shedding them in rebellion as they dance in African, contemporary and hip-hop styles re-imagining a moment in history.

Tobago and D’Lime

Sat, 3.15pm – 4pm
Tobago and D’Lime will bring Calypso sunshine to Croydon with a performance of live music! The band were brought together by Paul King (Director) and Damon Albarn (Blur) and featured in the BAFTA nominated Paddington Movies 1 & 2.

Steel Pan Orchestra
Katharine Street*
Sun, 12.45pm – 1.15pm & 3pm – 3.30pm
Croydon Steel Orchestra will bring the carnival atmosphere to the Clocktower with some familiar tunes on the steel pans.

Gospel Rising
Braithwaite Hall
Sun, 2.30pm – 3.10pm
Soul-stirring gospel music to uplift and inspire you, performed by Gospel Rising, led by Joanne Miller.

*In the case of bad weather music performances will move to the Atrium
