Be part of new exhibition ‘Liberating Love’ celebrating Croydon’s LGBTQ+ community!

We are thrilled to announce an open call for Queer individuals based in Croydon to participate in Liberating Love 2025: A Celebration of Pride Through Resilience and the Activism of Love. 

This two-week immersive exhibition and series of creative workshops celebrate the legacy of activists Ray Harvey-Amer and Claire Truscott. Curated by Norman Mine, the exhibition honours Pride by exploring the transformative power of love as a form of activism, showcasing the resilience and strength of Croydon’s Queer community through compelling visual storytelling.

Photoshoot details

On Saturday 25 January, we inviting Queer individuals from Croydon to join us for a unique photoshoot at the Urban Room, Croydon (inside the Whitgift Centre). This is your chance to be part of something extraordinary and have your portrait immortalized for the exhibition.

  • Date: Saturday 25 January
  • Location: Urban Room, Croydon (inside the Whitgift Centre)
  • Time Slots:
    • 11am – 1pm
    • 2pm – 4pm
      Each session will take approximately 15 minutes. Refreshments will be provided, and the atmosphere will be welcoming and inspiring.

Lukasz Izdebski (pictured) is a Queer, Croydon-based Polish photographer known for his collaborative approach, creating portraits that are both deeply personal and profoundly meaningful.

What You’ll Receive:

Participants will receive a printed postcard of their portrait as a keepsake. Their portrait will also be featured in the Liberating Love 2025 exhibition, which will run from Tuesday 11 – Sunday 23 February, at the Urban Room.
